Terms of Service

The rules for adult-managed Writing Tutor accounts, child use, subscriptions, and AI-assisted writing practice.

Effective date: August 10, 2026

1. Adult parent or guardian account

An account may be created only by a person who is at least 18 years old and is the child's parent or legal guardian, or is otherwise legally authorized to provide the required permissions. Children may use the writing workspace only through that adult-managed account and must not create independent credentials.

2. Supported markets

Writing Tutor is offered primarily to families in the United States, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom where the required account, child-privacy, verification, AI, and payment services are available. A single domain may be visible globally, but website visibility does not guarantee registration, payment, or feature availability in every jurisdiction. Region eligibility may use the parent's declaration, network country, verification country, and billing country as reasonable checks.

3. The service

Writing Tutor provides a structured flow for ideas, outlining, drafting, revision, reports, and parent-visible progress. Features, plan limits, and availability may evolve. We will not materially reduce a paid current-period benefit without notice except where required for safety, law, abuse prevention, or provider availability.

4. AI-assisted guidance

  • AI help is educational guidance and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a particular assignment.
  • The parent and child remain responsible for reviewing work and following school rules.
  • AI must not be used to impersonate the child, submit prohibited work, or replace required original effort.
  • Users must not enter unnecessary sensitive personal information about the child or another person.

5. Account security and acceptable use

The parent is responsible for protecting account credentials and supervising child use. Users must not:

  • Attempt to bypass plan limits, authorization, safety controls, or geographic eligibility.
  • Upload malware, unlawful material, or content that violates another person's rights.
  • Probe, scrape, reverse engineer, overload, resell, or disrupt the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
  • Use Writing Tutor for high-stakes professional, medical, legal, or emergency decisions.

6. User content

The parent and child retain ownership of original writing they submit. They grant Writing Tutor a limited license to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the requested service under the Privacy Policy and applicable consent. We do not claim ownership of a child's essay.

7. Plans, renewal, and cancellation

Paid subscriptions are sold and billed by Waffo Pancake, operated by Waffo.com Limited, as Merchant of Record. Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until canceled. A parent may cancel future renewal at any time. Unless a different mandatory rule applies, cancellation is scheduled for the end of the paid billing period and access continues until that date; cancellation does not automatically create a refund. When a full refund is completed, paid access associated with that payment ends. A partial refund does not by itself end paid access unless the refund decision states otherwise.

8. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or end access for material breach, fraud, security risk, unlawful activity, repeated abuse, or where continued service is legally or technically unavailable. Parents will receive reasonable notice where circumstances allow. Data handling after termination follows the Privacy Policy and applicable retention obligations.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Writing Tutor does not guarantee a grade, academic result, uninterrupted availability, or error-free AI output. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Nothing in these Terms excludes mandatory consumer protections or liability that cannot lawfully be limited in the user's jurisdiction.

10. Governing rules and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator in China, without depriving a consumer of mandatory protections that apply in the consumer's country of residence. Before filing a claim, please contact support so the parties can try to resolve the issue informally. A court or authority with mandatory jurisdiction may still hear a dispute where applicable law requires it.
